CLUB & SPA IN ST. PETERSBURG

About This Project

As part of a project for a St. Petersburg spa managed by the architecture studio Exclusiva Design, MiniatiLab was responsible for producing the furnishings for an area of 1,500 sqm, featuring a range of materials and finishings and involving a series of very high quality processing techniques using new generation machinery and an artisan approach.

Wood panelling reaching up to 400 cm in the entrance lobby of the spa continues along all the outer walls of the building, all of which are curved, and each different from the others. To achieve this, it was necessary to use moulds and a special membrane press. The alternation of the curves makes the wall fluid and sinuous, while the decorative finishing adds a fine additional touch.

The panelling continues into the living area on the upper floor, where the lounge bar houses a large wine cellar, also made by MiniatiLab, embellished with a moulded cornice in bronze-finish brass that is perfectly integrated into the curves of the panelling.

But the most distinctive feature in the living-room is the sofa: a single, large sculptural piece of over 20 metres, for which MiniatiLab created a frame made from hundreds of joints, divided into multiple blocks of multi-layered wood and curved solid wood; the upholstery was provided by one of our partner companies.

Finally, MiniatiLab also created the cinema room, with leather moulding and panelling, and the furniture in the library, an arrangement that fills the space with a play of solids and voids, with a central element consisting of two concealed “ad notam” pieces, integrated into a piece of milled, bronzed brass, that houses a mirror-faced block in the lower part with a bioethanol stove.

It was a complex project in which MiniatiLab played an extremely significant role, contributing to the success of the project as revealed by the client’s satisfaction.
